Vacaciones de primavera

It's been another good week here in Baja. Although we didn't have a group working exclusively with Baja Missions, several groups have been visiting the City of Children and going out into the community to help support the local churches. This week we have been able to work with the Columbia Academy group from Columbia, TN. Pilar has been taking them to El Zorrillo ever day this week to work with Franco and Yolanda to pass out food sets and repair roofs. They visited many homes and were able to repair three roofs during their week here. Thanks to the group from CA and to the Francos! Also, a special thanks to Pilar for all the hard work she does in allowing groups that come to the City of Children to experience the communities where the children come from.

I have been translating for the group during their nightly classes. Thanks to Patty and Ricardo for inviting me and allowing me to be a part of the classes.

Also, this last weekend Misael and Alejandro took food to San Vicente, Erendira, and Colonet to help the church and communities that are still suffering from a lack of work. We have seen things getting better little by little, but there is still a need in many of the communities in Northern Baja. We divided up the large 100lb bags of rice, beans, and flour in the office on Thursday and it was delivered to the churches on Friday. Alejandro and Misael stayed in Colonet to help Antonio and Dulce visit and personally deliver food sets to over 60 families. They also stayed for Sunday morning service in Colonet. Gerardo from Vicente Guerrero was invited to preach, and two women responded to be baptized. How awesome is it to know that they were baptized in the same river that, less than two months ago, devastated their town. God does amazing things!

Dividing the beans into 2kg bags

Same with the flour and rice

Visiting with the families of Colonet

Two great decisions

Its hard to believe that this is the River that flooded the church two months ago

On Monday I headed up to San Diego with Jeff and Natasha to bring back a van that had been driven out to San Diego from Alabama.

This week is spring break for the schools and government here in Mexico. Many of the teens from the Baja churches headed over to San Felipe for a week long camp out and youth event that the church there puts on every year. It ends tomorrow. Please pray for safety for the teens as they travel back from their event in San Felipe.

Reyes from Colonia 89 has asked me to preach this Sunday morning because he is out of town visiting his family.

Camalú will be hosting this months teen get together on the 10th of April. I know Juan Jose and Flor have been making a lot of plans for this event. They are bringing in a speaker from Tamaulipas to do a series of conferences starting on Thursday the 8th. The event will conclude with the area wide meeting on Saturday.

Thank you all for your support and love for Baja!
