Reuniones

I hope everyone has had a great week and is looking forward to a relaxing weekend. We are ready for an exciting weekend here in Baja. I had mentioned that last weekend was the date of the conferences in Camalu. In reality, those conferences started last night and will go through tomorrow. I am headed to Camalu as soon as I finish this update. Juan Jose has invited a brother from Tamaulipas to do the conferences. Churches from all of Baja, including Tijuana, will be attending. Look for more information and pictures from this meeting in next week's update.

This past week was a busy one as well. We are currently working on getting things ready for the summer groups. Our first group arrives in less than 2 months. Please be praying for our summer trips and this busy and exciting time.

Thinking that the conferences in Camalu were last weekend we headed down to Camalu along several members of the Colonia 89 church. Arriving in Camalu, we quickly realized that we had the wrong date! God works in amazing ways, and the church at Camalu received us warmly and quickly prepared lunch for everyone. After that, we were invited to Raul's ranch where we spent the afternoon playing soccer and hanging out at the beach. Reyes and Juan Jose joked that this was the first annual Camalu/Colonia 89 get-together. The teens and kids that came with Colonia 89 had a blast with the soccer games and also at the ranch because many of them had never been outside of Ensenada and have never seen a horse, pig, sheep, or chicken up close. It was almost like a field trip for them! Reyes and Juan Jose bought two fresh flounder straight off the boat for us to have fish tacos for dinner. It was a fun Saturday in Camalu.

After the festivities died down in Camalu, Alejandro, Arturo, and I headed down to Vicente Guerrero where we had been invited to stay with Gerardo and Betty. Shannon Townley and Mark Collins were also making a visit to Vicente Guerrero to plan their summer trip. We got to spend some time with them as they were just arriving and then we headed down to San Quintin with Gerardo and Betty. We had been invited to eat pozole at the home of one of the members who lives in San Quintin. We spent about three hours eating, talking, and telling stories. It's an incredible blessing to sit down and learn about people. I love being able to answer questions about my culture and hear about theirs. I would encourage you, on your next trip to Baja, to really try to sit down and learn someone's story. On Sunday morning we went to church at Vicente Guerrero and then went out for pizza afterwards with Mark and Shannon and the Figueroa family.
Pozole is a traditional Mexican dish.

Thank you all for your love and support of the people of Baja! Please be praying for our summer groups. We'll see you soon in Baja! I leave you with a picture of our newest vehicle in the Baja Missions fleet!

I remembered my grandma's horses being bigger...

Have a blessed week!
